Hiddenness.

it’s a tricky thing to navigate. But somehow Jesus did it perfectly for 30 years. His invitation into this hidden life for our team was unmistakable. The only reason any of us can experience the love and grace of God is because of one hidden man’s prayer life.

Thank you Jesus.

Here’s how it has looked for us over the past six months, and how it will look for the next six:

1) No events. Instead, we are seeking the secret place with God…the one that Jesus speaks of in Matthew chapter 6. Cultivating a life of prayer is not optional, it’s essential. First pic has been our booking page on our website for the past 6 months. We’ve moved from the stage to the secret.

2) Songwriting. We gather in different small pockets weekly to write songs to Jesus. We take communion before every session to remember Jesus, and sometimes that’s all we end up doing. We assign an “intercessor” to each songwriting session that receives full credit for assisting in the creation of a song, because we believe the most powerful way to invest our time & heart is in prayer.

3) Faith that says, “Even if He Doesn’t”. We fully believe the Lord will allow us to reengage on stages in the future as a team, but we are choosing this hidden life “even if he doesn’t”. It’s not a publicity stunt, or a trendy decision. In fact, it’s costing us significant amounts of income, impact, and influence. But we have counted the cost, and still say YES.

To be hidden and buried as a seed WITH Jesus. The reward has never been the potential of US becoming an “oak of righteousness“. The prize has always been being in the soil with HIM.

If anyone is sensing a similar stirring in your own soul, don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us for prayer. The Lord will meet you in the hidden place - He is faithful to draw near to you as you draw near to Him — His Presence — THAT is the reward.
