My wife has a plant addiction, and maybe I'm an enabler, but it gives me a good reason to build stuff and try some techniques that I haven't had a chance to before. I was trying to get it finished for her before Christmas, but life happened and it didn't.

I added in elements that I wanted to get some more practice doing like the through mortise and tenons and the wedged mortise and tenons. I also added in the bow ties because I've wanted to do them for a while but haven't had the right piece. I think they turned out pretty good for my first time.

After what has seemed like an eternity, I am extremely happy to announce that I'm back!!!

Here's a little something I did at the day job. We needed a cabinet to put a countertop ice machine on, so I got to build one. The hard part was matching the color to the laminate cabinets that were already in place. I think I got the color to match pretty good, it would be better if I matched the grain, but I couldn't resist the squirrelly grain and book matched veneer on the plywood for the doors.

I got the saddle stand delivered and covered with the saddle today. The saddle fits on it perfectly and it fits great in the case. I was a little worried about the height, but I there is about 1/4 inch of space between the horn and the top of the case. I almost went with a more natural color, but I'm glad that convinced me to go a little darker because it looks really good with the dark color of the saddle.

The historic preservation society in my city just opened a museum. They have a saddle that was made here, but they didn't have a stand to display it so they reached out to me. I've never made a saddle stand, but after looking at some pictures I figured out something and got this put together for them.

is really into houseplants and has developed quite the green thumb. She filled all the horizontal surfaces with plants, so I built her a shelf to go in our southern facing window so that she can get more plants😂

I've been quiet on here lately, but I've been working hard behind the scenes. I'm very happy to say that I've wrapped up this project that I've been working on for a few months!

The is open for business tomorrow and we got a sneak peak tonight and it's going to be fantastic! The food was excellent and the drinks were great too! I had the pleasure to build the cabinets behind the bar and also the hostess station.

My sister wanted a faux mantle for her house with some storage underneath, so I decided to surprise her with it in time for her to paint it and decorate for Christmas.

I haven't posted on here in a long time, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. Some friends reached out about getting some desks for their daughters because of virtual schooling, so I got these put together for them.
This was my first time spraying paint with my new sprayer and man, do I love it.

and I got all dressed up this weekend for a wedding, and I have to say that I think we clean up pretty good, especially her 😍.I also made the box for our wedding present, I just couldn't pass up this lovely piece of cherry!
