She’s so sweet, inquisitive, and loves to cuddle!

This weekend will mark one year since JB died, and I think from above he orchestrated this and helped bring Nancy to me. That’s her playing with one of his balls 🄹

From a secret agent to a detective, Golden paws are clacking through the house once again! šŸ’›

EMMY NOMINATED: This is pretty cool! The Future of Transit in Atlanta Town Hall was just nominated for a 2026 southeast Emmy for top Interview/Discussion. I was nominated for top Program Host.

This was such a labor of love that took months of planning. Big shoutout to and my team for making this small idea come to life! Who knows if it’ll win…but honestly, who cares?! Just to have this night recognized means a lot to me! The future of transit in Atlanta mattered in October when we held this town hall. It matters today.

Oh and you can still watch the TV version. Link is in the bio! 🚊 šŸŒ† šŸ‘

ANTARCTICA: A trip of a lifetime! Penguins, whales, incredible glaciers, new friends, and a new appreciation of the great wide world we live in. Did you know a baby albatross doesn’t land on ground for up to 5 years after birth?

Sure, the initial draw was to check my 7th continent off the list & see the animals. But these last 2 weeks were way more than a lifetime accomplishment. Antarctica is pristine—and it’s worth protecting. Here’s where I go on a small (well-intentioned) rant.

I had concerns going in about the dark side of ecotourism & being a drain on such a fragile place. Yes, boats can accelerate ice melt & add pollution…and while I invite continued dialogue about whether tourism is worth it, I believe when done responsibly, it is. It’s up to us to protect our world—and to truly care, you have to see & understand it.

I now know the MVP of Antarctica isn’t a Gentoo penguin or Leopard seal—it’s krill. The entire ecosystem depends on it, and that population is declining due to climate change. There are worrying signs, but also hopeful progress.

I learned humpback whale populations are rising after hunting bans went into effect. Our cruise had a whirlpool bath overlooking the water (I know, I know), and at one point we counted nearly 20 humpbacks circling our ship. It was stunning.

Regulations are making a difference. Visits are tightly controlled—there are limits on landings, slow speed rules in whale waters, and strict cleaning between excursions to prevent contamination.

On the last night, our captain told us to be ambassadors for Antarctica. Cheesy, I know. But I’m in. And surviving a legit polar plunge has to earn me something.

Lastly, the people—176 tourists from 26 countries. To y’all (plus the crew), thanks for adding color to the pale blues, whites, & blacks of the Antarctic landscape.

Getting there isn’t easy…but it’s worth it.

Half the battle with trekking to Antarctica…is the trek. So have the battle!
