As if the last few days couldn't get any better, we have some big news from the Atlanta Pipe Band!

For 2026, we’re proud to announce the creation of a Grade 5 band — and we’ve appointed Tom Crawford as its Pipe Major.

Pipe Major Rob Rogers - "I am excited to announce that I have appointed Tom Crawford to be Pipe Major of the newly formed Grade 5 unit. Tom has experience as a PM in both grade 5 and 4, having led APB 5 many years ago, then joining the grade 5 North Georgia Pipes & Drums as Pipe Major and taking the band to grade 4. Tom is a multi-faceted musician and accomplished teacher, and the right person to lead our newest piping members to a higher level”

Please join us in welcoming Tom back to this role!

An Update from the Atlanta Pipe Band

After 10 faithful years as Grade 4 Pipe Major, Bob Sloan has decided to step down and pass the torch to new leadership. Bob has been instrumental since day one over 10 years ago when he took charge of Grade 4. His leadership has led the band to many victories over the years, sustaining us through the COVID-19 shutdown and beyond.

Pipe Major Rob Rogers announced yesterday that effective immediately, former Grade 3 Pipe Sergeant Bob Kaus will be taking over as Grade 4 Pipe Major. With a long and successful career in piping, Bob brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and commitment to musical excellence that will continue to push the band forward.

Please join us in congratulating Bob Sloan on his dedicated service and welcoming Bob Kaus to his new appointment!
