Don’t be a stranger

I struggle with a disorder called depersonalization, which affects the perception of yourself and others, physically and psychologically. This series is a collection of how I struggle with depersonalization, and placing that feeling into portraits of the people who I feel have helped me recognize myself throughout my life.
“Don’t be a stranger” is a series of mixed media collages I’m created from my previous portraiture. This collection consists of the most important people in my life, who I find have shaped me into who I am today. Each and every single person in this collection (and many more to be added in the future) have continuously taught me so much about life, and this is an homage to them.
