The community milpa comes into existence, one 64 ft section of rabbit browse at a time! The mix I'm planting here is from , and as it develops I'll be opening it for pay what you can harvesting and volunteer harvest days where the food collected goes over to for distribution through their community fridge. I'm also adding some summer veggies to open holes in the landscape fabric of the strawberry field, just to increase the diversity in the soil over there and to make some additional food available for the community.

Want to come pick this week? I just released appointments for Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday! Come get some of the best strawberries you've ever tasted! One young picker this weekend told me I needed to be supplying Costco, cause my strawberries tasted way better than theirs 😂🍓
No room for plants that don't pull their weight around here! The chandlers are the worst offenders, and I'm seriously considering ripping them out for next year - some of these plants have leaves the size of my palm and have never put out a single fruit. I feel like a frustrated parent or teacher with a kid who is wasting potential 😂

Want in on a strawberry farmer secret? These not-so-perfect, cracked berries are the absolute sweetest in the field! They lose just a bit of extra moisture as they heal themselves over and that, combined with an already amazing taste, pushes them out of this world😍

Cutting runners and pulling weeds, life of a strawberry farmer! And nutrient sprays, not shown but I'll try to get a clip of that when I do it tonight. About 20% of my plants are as big as I've ever seen on this property, and I think the nutrient sprays are a big part of that.
We've got a few slots open on Thursday - weekend is booked but I'll add more next week!

They're coming! Slowly for now, but it will increase. I'm tentatively thinking I'll have 5 appointments on April 18th, our opening day, but we'll see how things build over the weekend. The forecast near 90 is going to be a serious whiplash for these plants 😳
