👨🌾Learn to grow food No Dig
🪴Organic Gardener 40 Years
💨🍃More stormy weather and a few covers needed attention but mostly the garden is ready for spring 🌱
🍃What is no dig? It's a very simple definition. Leave soil undisturbed as much as possible and feed soil life with organic matter on the surface.🌱
🍃One thing it can be very good to do before winter is really get on top of weeds.🌿
🍃No dig soil really helps with drainage and moisture retention and having few weeds, so it makes growing easier. But all these plants start somewhere. Where do they start?🌿
🍃Keep replanting, second cropping. But how do you know where and when to pop in each different vegetable?🌿
🍃I'm using what's in the garden here to give you some prompts for jobs that you can do in July, which is a fast moving month.🌱
🍃How can you turn something like this mass of weeds, random plants, into something like that? Incredible abundance. 🌿
🍃A few thoughts on patio growing in containers. And this is not a how to, but it's just things I've done here to give you some ideas of what you could do🌿
🌿🐌 I've never seen quite this much snail damage. We're not seeing so many birds here as we normally do in the whole area here, not just Homeacre's garden. 🌱
🌱🌿 This is seed saving of root vegetables, where you need to grow probably at least ten, some people say more, in a clump, so you get good genes for cross-pollination. 🌼
🌱We've got some healthy cucumbers so they don't mind the humidity. They are still cropping quite nicely, but they're nothing like the quality they were. They're not quite as big🌱
🌱We're probably looking here at three and a half thousand seedlings. How can that be possible in such a relatively small space? It's to do with the trays partly. 🌿
