Nulla tenaci invia est via.

"For the tenacious, no road is impassable."

I have those words tattooed on my arm. Most people who see them don't know they're Spyker's. I put them there years ago โ€” not only as a car reference, but as a reminder I could carry with me: that the only way you actually lose is by quitting. That conviction is worth more than comfort. That down is not the same as out.

So watching Spyker climb off the mat again hits differently for me.

If you don't know the story: this is a company that went bankrupt. Then came back. Then nearly disappeared again. Years of legal standoffs, collapses, write-offs. By every reasonable measure, the smart money said it was over a long time ago.

And today they're announcing a new car โ€” an 800-hp V8, debuting this August at Monterey. Victor Muller put it plainly: "It's been an interesting ride in the past few years, but we're here, and we're building cars. This is the very first one of many."

We're here. And we're building.

That's the whole thing, isn't it? Not the horsepower. The fact that they're still standing to make the announcement at all.

I think about this a lot in my own work โ€” building products, building ventures, doing the slow unglamorous reps when nothing is guaranteed. It's easy to confuse a hard season for a final verdict. To read a setback as a signal to stop. The tenacious don't get an easier road. They just refuse to accept that the road ends where everyone else says it does.

Spyker isn't a sure thing. The comeback might be brilliant or it might be brutal โ€” that's exactly why it's worth respecting. They're choosing to keep building anyway.

If you're in a low stretch right now, building something nobody can see yet, take this as your sign:
It's not over until you give up.

Stay strong to what you believe in.

PSA: Another โ€œlive and learnโ€ case I managed to SS before the dirty delete. Buy knockoff Rolex and Nikes. Nobody will know. But donโ€™t skimp on infotainment, tech or essential hardware (brakes, tires, suspension, etc).

I said what I said ๐ŸŽคโฌ‡๏ธโœŒ๐Ÿฝ
