A lot of people don’t know this… but I was a HUGE Michael Jackson fan too 😂

One day I walked into rehearsal wearing a sequined Bolero-style jacket, white socks, and loafers like I was headed straight to the Victory Tour 😭

Have you ever sat back and realized how fast life moves? 💜

One minute you’re a young kid chasing a dream with a bass in your hands… and before you know it, those moments become memories that people still talk about decades later.

I’ve been blessed to experience some incredible chapters in this life through music. The stages, the people, the late nights, the funk, the lessons… all of it shaped me into the man I am today.

And through every season, I’ve tried to stay grounded, grateful, and true to myself.

Thank y’all for continuing to ride with me on this journey. It truly means more than you know. 👊🏾🎸💜

Funky Saturday… let’s get right to it 👊🏾🔥

“Let’s Work” got one of those bass lines that don’t ease in… it WALKS in the room 😄

Back then, we wasn’t thinkin about trends or formulas… we was locked into groove, feel, and makin people move. That Minneapolis funk hit different for a reason 💜

Turn this one up loud today and let that bass breathe

Not everybody got to see moments like this… 👀💜

Behind the scenes at Paisley Park Studios during the making of “Bang Bang” in 1989.

Just a room full of musicians exchanging ideas, building grooves, and creating in real time. Prince was there in the mix along with everybody else, shaping the energy of the session.

Still smiling. Still grateful. 💜

Life has a way of taking you places you never imagined… and I appreciate every step of the journey.

💜 BEFORE THE WORLD CALLED IT LEGENDARY… WE WERE JUST LIVING IT. 💜

One stage.
One sound.
One moment in time that can never be duplicated.

Found this old shot from the 1999 Tour with Prince and me locked in onstage doing what we loved most — creating energy you could feel in your chest. Back then, none of us were thinking about “history.” We were just pushing the music as far as it could go every single night.

The clothes.
The lights.
The sweat.
The basslines.
The magic.

That era changed a lot of lives… including mine.

If you were around during the 1999 days, what do you remember most about that time? 💜👇🏾

2018… and we was still tearin the roof off with this one 👊🏾🔥

“Let’s Work” always brought that energy outta everybody. Wendy, Lisa, Dr. Fink, Bobby Z… all of us locked in and havin a good time with it — plus we had our brother Stokely with us that night bringin that extra flavor 😄🔥

That funk hit and it turned into a whole party real quick.
Nothing but smiles, sweat, and straight FUNK. 💜

Some songs got a pulse all their own 👊🏾🔥

“Anotherloverholenyohead” always had that tension in it… funky, edgy, emotional, all at once.

You don’t really play a song like this — you fall into it and ride the groove.

Just messin around with a little 45-second piece of it today 💜

Raw. Unfiltered. ELECTRIC. 👊🏾🔥

Back in 1982, we were hungry… pushin the music, the look, and the energy to another level every night. This rare clip from the Capitol Theatre captures us during that early Controversy era when everything was starting to explode.

You can hear the mix of funk, rock, attitude, and freedom all colliding at once. That was the vibe back then… no rules, just feel.

That Controversy period was special… the sound, the fashion, the energy… all of it was shifting the culture in real time.

Back on the Controversy Tour… and looking at this picture now still feels unreal.

Two young brothers on stage with something to prove… long before the world fully understood what was coming. 🔥💜

What made Prince special wasn’t just the music. It was the fearlessness. Every night he pushed all of us to go harder, tighter, and bring that energy to the stage like it was the last show on earth.

Those early tours had a different kind of hunger.
No safety net.
No guarantees.
Just passion, sweat, talent, and belief.

A lot of memories in this one photo.

👉 If you could go back and see ONE Prince tour live, which one would it be and why?

Man… had to take it all the way back this mornin 👊🏾🔥
That Parliament “Flashlight” kind of funk… you already know

Soon as this dropped back in the day… it was over
Dance floor packed, no questions asked

I’m feelin real funky today… let’s go 💜👊🏾
