Another one of my favorites from Next in Fashion was/is Ashton. He’s been in the game for awhile now and is a favorite among the celebs for all of their leather get-ups 😂 While not my usual aesthetic (y’all know I love color & prints!!), I particularly love his construction and his ATTENTION TO DETAIL, especially when working with hardware and embellishments…something that I’m not familiar with yet. Continuing on the Next In Fashion train, we’re stopping at my absolute FAVORITE designer on the first season, Charles Lu!!! I really felt like he was ROBBED because his garment construction TOP TIER. Look how CLEAN these lines are. THE DETAIL. Charles really inspired me to be PATIENT and to genuinely work on my craft. I remember he mentioned something his mother said to him about patience. “You get more done when you’re patient.” Something so small, but now I think about it every time I hit that sewing machine.

I hope my technical skills and attention to detail is as half as good as his one day. 😬

During the pandemic, I resisted the urge to binge watch certain shows because of popularity, like Next In Fashion, but I finally finished the first season and felt compelled to highlight some of my faves! First up, MINJU KIM.

I’m not a super emotional person, but I low key shed a tear on that season finale because in a way, I’ve always seen a little piece of myself in her. Unsure, always doubting myself…but to see her grow and make it to the end was truly inspiring. I loved her use of colors and her expression of femininity in her pieces. And she creates her own prints! UGH. 🥲So here’s some of my faves from her current & past collections. 💥

And despite all the controversy surrounding the first season, I think it was a pretty good show. 😬

Today we’re focusing on FOOTWEAR. I discovered Kat Maconie’s shoes through an IG ad and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Becauseeee LOOK AT THE MATERIAL. The color. The texture. The overall DESIGN. Like, zebras and birds?! I haven’t bought a pair (yet) but I want every pair 😭 LOVE 🧡

I usually don’t cover accessory brands, but I NEED ME A BAG!!! I don’t get hype over many accessory brands but he always coming with that 🔥 🔥 🔥. Get into his V-Day Collection!!! I’m copping one soon (next paycheck though😅)

I think enough people in the fashion world has heard of and seen HANIFA to know who they are, especially during the pandemic. Had a whole 3D runway show and has been changing the game ever since. Not to mention, every piece ever created is 🔥🔥🔥 It’s the colors and silhouettes that really do it for me every time.
