When we look at art, most of us don’t realize what it takes to make the frame around it! Depending on the piece it can take almost just as long. Finding the right wood. Do you stain or do you paint? Wood filling. Sanding. More sanding. Two separate table saws to cut the wood. Multiple coats of paint. Gloss or satin? How will it hang? Wire or ridged backings? Which backing will be strong enough for the weight of the piece? Is the backing centered depending on the weight. Is the right side heavier than the left? Bless the woodworkers out there!

I’ve got the best hubby. Really. I’m always keeping him busy with new designs and he’s the first to say “let’s do it.” He helps me paint at midnight or go trekking through the woods on his day off for “the right” piece of wood. I couldn’t ask for a better life partner. ❤️ PS - I’m still not sure why he insists on dressing like a farmer when he’s woodworking. 🤷‍♀️👨🏻‍🌾
