GPPR started a GoFundMe campaign for Mochi at the end of August. Mochi has received almost 30% of the funds needed for her surgeries. Please consider sharing this post or the Go Fund Me page. Let's get the word out about her page.

Here is more about Mochi:

Mochi is every bit as sweet as the Japanese dessert she was named after. Everyone who meets her seems to fall in love with her instantly. She adores people, children, other dogs, and even cats — although Mochi may secretly believe she is the family cat. She plays with cat toys, sleeps in the cat’s bed and has even figured out how to move barriers when there might be cat food waiting on the other side. She also loves spending a little time sunbathing on the porch and in the backyard.
Unfortunately, life has not been nearly as easy for Mochi as her happy personality would lead you to believe.

Mochi came into rescue with a number of ongoing medical problems, including severe allergies, chronic ear infections, dry eye, and significant problems with both of her knees.

After X-rays on August 21, the veterinarian confirmed that Mochi has Grade 4 luxating patellas in BOTH knees. Grade 4 is the most severe form of this condition — her kneecaps are permanently out of their normal position.

Walking can be very difficult for her, particularly in her hind legs. Mochi tries so hard to keep going, but sometimes she simply cannot. She will plop herself down and even scooch along when her legs aren’t cooperating.

And still, she remains one of the happiest and most loving little girls you could meet.

Mochi Needs Two Surgeries
Her veterinarian recommends repairing one knee at a time, beginning with her left knee because it is currently the worse of the two.

We are hoping to raise the funds to cover:
Pre-surgical bloodwork: approximately $250
Left knee surgery: $1,800–$2,000
Right knee surgery: $1,800–$2,000
Total Fundraising goal = $4,250

It's $5 Foster Friday!

Meet Chelsea! Sorry, I mean Princess Chelsea who is one of GPPR's forever fosters. Sweet Chelsea is 16 and half years old, but this little girl is still going strong. She is very sweet and loving. Her favorite hobbies include long naps, riding in her stroller, snuggling, and watching Live with Kelly and Mark. Chelsea's BFF is her 4-year-old nephew Rex. She has convinced her foster mom to cook her homemade dog food. Her foster mom says that she is such a sweetheart and has brought so much happiness and love.

Chelsea is a miracle warrior!!! She was diagnosed with a large mass near her trachea in February. The vet said the prognosis was bleak, but Chelsea is still here enjoying her time with her loving foster family. She does have numerous medical issues and is a frequent flyer at the vet along with taking a plethora of prescriptions. Thankfully your kind donations and the love of her foster family have helped her maintain a good quality of life in her golden years.
