The City of Atlanta Dept. of Watershed Management sewer mainline work continues on the 10th Street corridor between Crescent Avenue and Piedmont Avenue. Per the City, this work is happening in three phases.

Work has now started on the segment of 10th Street between Juniper and Peachtree Streets (Phase Two) and is expected to last for two weeks. Construction will occur Monday through Friday from 7am-7pm. View the City’s traffic advisory details here: https://bit.ly/3O9IH1b

Juniper Street is closed between 11th/10th Streets. Motorists traveling SB from the uppermost section of Juniper Street will detour at 11th Street. Motorists headed WB on 10th Street will detour at Juniper. Motorists going EB on 10th Street will detour at Piedmont Ave.

Emergency 24-hour Road Closure on 10th Street NE due to Sewer Mainline Rehabilitation Work

Location: 181 10th Street NE between Piedmont Avenue NE and Juniper Street NE

Date & Duration: Work will begin on Monday, January 12, 2026, with a 24-hour road closure in place. The work is expected to last approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Work will occur Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Details: As part of compliance with a regulatory consent order, emergency sewer repairs will be conducted, existing sewer mains will be removed and replaced to repair defects and increase the sewer system’s capacity.

Traffic Control: Traffic control measures and signage are in place to safely guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses within the work area will maintain access to homes, mail and package delivery, emergency services, and trash collection.

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution, follow posted detours, and avoid the area when possible. Alternative parking will be required for vehicles typically parked on the street.

Detours: Motorists traveling eastbound on 10th Street NE turn right on Juniper Street NE., left on 8th Street NE., left on Piedmont Avenue NE., and right on 10th Street NE.

Motorists traveling South on Juniper Street NE turn left on 8th Street NE., left on Piedmont Ave NE., and right on 10th Street NE.
