“For this image I was inspired by color and texture. Juxtaposing the subject’s hair and freckles against the lush green of her surroundings created the contrasting color palette that I was looking for. 🌿 I’m often inspired by unique subjects and how to best blend them with the natural surroundings or a natural element. This is a signature element in my artwork and allows me to explore places with my subjects and leaves us open to spontaneity.”

In art, stairs are often seen as a metaphor for a journey. They can be used optimistically to show growth and ascension, or in a more sinister sense to show a descent into darkness and despair. M.C. Escher used them as an eternal, never ending motif. Rocky used them as a point of victory. Truman used them as an escape. The stairs pictured here are cracked and worn; colored with bright hopeful colors… which way are you headed?

Repost from our amazing owner/curator/bad ass bitch ⤵️

This week at was a blur. Thank you thank you to & .okelley and the whole team at MINT for being amazing hosts 💐

Another HUGE thank you to all of you that came out to the shows. We sold out tickets and I could not be more pleased with the new friendships that have been made over the last week.

To the artists who were a part of the show, I’m so proud to have had the honor of hanging your work ✨

it was a pleasure to hang alongside you. You’re a true talent 🖌

Stay cool and stay tuned, the next one is already in the works ✨
