Vascular endothelial dysfunction associated with severity in MS 02/23/2023

Over the last several years, CCSVI Atlanta has continued to see MS and Chronic Lyme patients with 95% of patients scoring 2/5 criteria, the minimum result to be positive for Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency. More than 50% of the patients evaluated scored well above the minimum criteria with the majority being 3/5 & 4/5 scores.

Patients are evaluated with the Zamboni protocol and a calculation of the Venous Hemodynamic Insufficiency Severity Score (VHISS). This score allows us to have specificity of patient result severity. The VHISS score also breaks down with consistent results being in the same range per patient group evaluated (e.g. SPMS vs PPMS).

The Zamboni protocol evaluates the blood flow from the brain back down to the heart but the VHISS is an another important tool that helps determine the specificity level of advanced severity per patient and is used as a baseline to evaluate patients on a follow up basis.

Vascular endothelial dysfunction associated with severity in MS I wanted to provide a recent research round-up on the connection of MS to vascular health, specifically how endothelial dysfunction contribu...

The Vascular Connection to Multiple Sclerosis:

New review on how diet impacts MS. https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/13/6/1891/htm
With huge thanks to Patricia Grace-Farfaglia for compiling this information from the self-reported CCSVI tracking project. The hypothesis has been that nutrition would impact MS disease progression in those treated with PTA for vascular issues, or CCSVI. Participants were coded into one of four groups: MS Diet, Western Pattern Diet, and two Mediterranean diet groups: Eastern (Greece, Turkey) and Western (Spain, Italy, France). The results of this study suggest that the influence of the Mediterranean diet had a significant and positive effect on the quality of life for the respondents in the CCSVI-Tracking Study.
For those new to the idea of a Mediterranean Diet, it is eating whole, natural and unprocessed foods--mostly colorful fruits and veg, with nuts, fish and plants the main source of fats, rather than saturated animal fats. I call it food made in sunshine. Here's more. Happy summertime eating! Joan https://ccsviinms.blogspot.com/2016/09/eating-food.html

Mid-term sustained relief from headaches after balloon angioplasty of the internal jugular veins in patients with multiple sclerosis Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) patients frequently suffer from headaches and fatigue, and many reports have linked headaches with intracranial and/or extracranial venous obstruction. We therefore designed a study involving MS patients diagnosed with obstructive disease of internal jugular veins....
