We are honored to announce that a piece published by EBDJ was recently featured on the Harvard Law School Bankruptcy Roundtable! In it, authors Anthony J. Casey and Joshua Macey discuss the wide discretion given to debtors to reorganize in the venue of their choice, leading to the market domination of the District of Delaware and the Southern District of New York for large Chapter 11 cases.

Today’s 3L Feature is Matthew Gjonaj. Matthew is a first generation American born and raised in New York. Matthew worked in commercial real estate in New York City for three years after graduating from New York University with a bachelor’s in economics before attention Emory Law. At Emory Law Matthew was enrolled in the Transactional Program with a focus on tax and real estate. Matthew co-founded the Emory Tax Law Society and held the position of Vice President of Finance, as well as the Managing Editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal. After law school, Matthew will be pursuing an LLM in Tax Law. Congratulations, Matthew!

Today’s graduating 3L Feature is Jonathan Hirsch. Jonathan is a Managing Editor for EBDJ. He enjoys being outdoors and on the water, engaging in recreational activities, and spending time with his friends and family. Jonathan is the founding President of Emory Law's Tax Law Society and has maintained a transactional focus during his time in law school. Following graduation, Jonathan will be clerking in an 11th Circuit U.S. District Court. Congrats on all of your success, Jonathan!

Today's 3L feature is Dru Selden. Prior to law school, Dru was a teacher in St. Louis Public Schools before working as a project assistant for a law firm in Chicago. Since coming to Emory, she has served as president of the Emory Public Interest Committee and co-coordinator for the Know Your Rights Project with the Barton Child Law and Policy Center. She has interned at the Georgia Innocence Project, the Southern Center for Human Rights, and the Federal Defender Program. Her student comment was published in Issue I of Volume 37, for which she received the Keith J. Shapiro Award for Excellence in Consumer Bankruptcy Writing. She has also worked as a Notes & Comment Editor on the Editorial Board. Congratulation on all of your success, Dru!

Join Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal and the Black Law Students Association on Monday, April 5th for this event! Professor Pardo will be presenting on his article and addressing the intersection between bankruptcy and slavery. There will be an opportunity to ask Professor Pardo questions about his article. Additionally, Erich Ritter, EBDJ’s Editor-in-Chief, will provide a brief update on Write-On after Professor Pardo's presentation.
