M was a wonderful participant for her ear taping. She decided to sit multiple times and let me press it all on. Was a pleasant surprise 😆

First vet exam since coming home was fun and relaxing. Margot was weighed, handled, and recieved an oral vaccination (in between bouts of play and munching treats). She was an enthusiastic participant and felt comfortable enough in the space to rest. Building a history of positivity with the vet starts from the beginning with the aim of reducing stress of future exams.

Meet Margot! This little girl is Trainer Georgia's new puppy and a bundle of joy. She's a 9-week-old smooth collie ready to take on the world. Stay tuned to watch her learn and grow!

Another example of contrafreeloading! Contrafreeloading is the behavioral phenomenon where animals—including rodents, birds, monkeys, and many others—prefer to exert effort to obtain food, even when identical, free food is readily available. This is because it is more enriching to use their mind and body to solve a puzzle versus just being handed something. Contrafreeloading is why educated trainers employ creative feeding techniques, because it enriches the animal's body AND mind.

Meet Rosie! Believe it or not this sweet girl is only 4 months old and she's this big already! She is a GSD/Mastiff/Rottweiler mix. Her dad is helping her learn the importance of keeping her attention (eyes and ears) on him when they are moving about in the world. Polite leash walking is a complex skill set, but we are being strict about laying the groundwork early as this girl will grow BIG very soon and proper leash skills is not just a luxury it becomes a safety issue when you have a dog big enough to pull you down.

Sweet Millie having a blast! This girl is just finishing her first heat cycle and has been having a bit of trouble dealing with the hormone swings and pain that comes along with it. Outside time to play in the sun and quiet time to sniff helps decompress the body.

Precious Finn is back and is enjoying the spring weather. This boy is working on advanced skills and having lots of fun in the sun

Meet Nellie! This sweet girl is only 5 months old. She's learning to navigate the world with more confidence as well as practicing the many foundational skills (like attention and recall) she'll need for a happy, healthy life with her family. Stay tuned to watch her learn and grow!
