with Jacqueline Hi! My name is Jacqueline. I was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland a suburb of Washington, DC. We now live in the Atlanta area.

I came from a close family with 3 older sisters and 2 younger brothers. After working in the restaurant business at a very young age and then moving on to bartending in high-profile clubs in cities like DC, Miami and San Francisco, I realized that I needed to come up with a different plan. At 26, I packed my bags and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I received a degree in Art Direction and Graphic

I haven’t written here in awhile but as I’m headed up North on a road trip, I finally have time to put into words something that has been on my mind for quite sometime and thought I’d share.

*** READ the verse in the attached image first. All the way til the end.

Addiction, Anger, Jealousy, Lust, Fear, Aniiety, Insecurity, Alcoholism, Rage, Gluttony.. and so much more. All of them to me, being a Christian, are a direct link to an evil spirit attached to you/us! And if your evil spirt isn’t listed, add it. Hopefully, this makes sense and you’ll get the point.

There is a couple verses in the Bible (Matthew 12: 43-45) that a dear friend showed me and it smacked me square in the face. Not only dealing with my own demons but witnessing those that I love most, battling their own.

So here’s what this verse means…

Let’s take Addiction, whatever that looks like to you. You have finally rid yourself from it. Your mind, body and soul are refreshed from this “demon” attached to you. You have cleansed yourself of it and are finally free.

BUT then… it comes back searching for the tiniest crack to squeeze in (what I like to call temptation). It always shows up at your weakest moment and slides back in, finds your house (your body) clean. So it goes and grabs 7 of its friends (evil spirits) only to slide through the back door, take up residency and trash your home. (Your entire self). Leaving it so much worse than before.

Then you are not only left off 7 times worse than before but with a HUGE mess to clean up. What I call, consequences. Scares me to death!

With that said, I have to shut the door, lock it and guard it with every bit of my might. Fill it with absolutely nothing but God’s word and his love.

As for me, this is THE ONLY THING that protects me and for this reason, me and my household will ALWAYS serve the Lord.

Hope this helps you or someone else you know that is struggling with demons. I know this to be TRUTH and factual according to my own experiences. ❤️

Last, never forget… YOU can do all things (like fight these battle) through Christ who strengthens YOU!

Say it out loud! “I can stop (fill in the blank) through Christ who strengthens me!” It works!!! At least for me ☺️

This is probably going to be a long post so feel free to scroll on by..

It has been many years since I have gotten pulled over, much less a ticket but within the last month, I have gotten 3. You read that right, 3! The reason I wanted to share that with you is because I truly believe that it is the Lord telling me that I need to slow down in general, in life.

The first ticket I got was 32 in a 25. It was in a school zone right in front of the elementary school downtown. I was in between two other cars going the same speed, but I was the first to turn in to my son’s pre-k across the street where the cop was sitting. I had my son’s friends waving at me while I was getting a ticket and yes, it was a deserved ticket. I know better.

A week later, I was in the same spot, but further ahead. The speed limit right before you get to the yellow flashing lights is 35. As soon as I got through the yellow lights, I slowed down, but apparently you’re supposed to be at 25 when you “hit” the yellow lights. I did not know that, but again, my fault. Same cop, same ticket.

A few days later, I was driving down the road on my phone talking to Nora about plans. Silas was sitting in the backseat and told me that I shouldn’t be on my phone and that I could get in an accident or hit somebody. I remember specifically asking him if he saw a video or something on that because the way he explained the dangers to me sounded super mature for his age. He said, it was his brain that told him.

I know, I know, common sense, right! ☺️

Two days later, which was two days ago, I was driving to a doctors appointment. I was sitting at a stoplight on my phone, on speaker, holding it in my hand, trying to find out where in the building the doctor’s office was. I was on hold when the light turned green. I went through the light while still holding my phone and immediately got pulled over. The police officer said that he sat there, watched me and waited to see if I would put my phone down when the light turned green but I didn’t. Needless to say I was late to my appointment.

With all that said, I’m legit in and out of my driveway 50 times a day. Taking kids and picking kids up from three different schools, going grocery shopping, dropping off forgotten lunches, running to dentist appointments and everything in between. Life is just so jammed packed with stuff so while I’m driving (or should I say parents in general) we also have 100 other things on our minds like whether or not we signed that permission slip, did we cancel that appointment? What’s for dinner? Are the clothes in the dryer wet? Did I remember to put water in the dog bowls? Etc, etc! Our minds are typically all over the place and I definitely had that feeling in my soul that I needed to slow down and pay more attention to my surroundings. Especially now with the nice weather!! There are so many people out walking their dogs, kids riding their bikes down the sidewalks, people just out and about in general. We need to pay more attention!

So finally today, as I was driving Silas to school, we were silent, soaking it all in and he says out of the blue, “Oh I remember who told me the other day about you putting down your phone. It was Jesus. He’s the one that told me.” Truly, he was just so matter of fact and I believe him with every bit of my heart because I too was being nudged even before these 3 tickets. This is how we are spoken to. God warns us over and over again and because of His grace, I have been warned in this way and not in some other completely avoidable tragedy. 🙏🏼

Bottom line, we ALL need to just slow down, sit back and enjoy the ride 💞

“I’m one person, what can I do?” 🤔
There are 8 MILLION people saying the same thing.

I made a mental note to cut this out and frame it for my office. It may seem like commonsense for some but for me, it’s words to live by! 🩷

#1 If I don’t map out the day, I start off lost.
#2 When I start off with the small stuff, I’m frustrated when the kids get home because I never made it to the BIG stuff.
#3 Being flexible is something we all need to work on!!! I’m certain of that.
#4 Learn to Delegate. I SUCK at it! I’m definitely a clinger. NOT MY WHEELHOUSE! Need to learn!
