Do I Have to be Poor to be Saved? 05/31/2026

Happy Sunday, church family! ✨
Last week, I shared the exciting news that my wife Jeanne is officially retired! If you are young and watching this, let me remind you: time flies, and you had better be prepared. If you are already retired, you know exactly how swiftly this season of life arrives.
We saved for this moment, which brings up an important question we are tackling in today’s message: Is money bad? Can you be a saver and also be saved? 🤔
We often hear people say that money is the root of all evil. But that isn't what the Bible says. 1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil.
Money itself is amoral. It is a tool. It can be used to fund a drug cartel, or it can be used to build an orphanage. The issue is never the money; it is always the heart.
Today, we look at Proverbs 15:16:
📖 “Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it.”
Whether we have a little or a lot, the key is having a deep reverence and respect for God that impacts the way we live. Wealth without a spiritual foundation is dangerous. But wealth in the hands of someone who loves Jesus can change the world through generosity.
Let’s guard our hearts and use everything we have for His glory!

Today, we pause the scroll to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. We hold a deep sense of gratitude for the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Our freedom is a lasting gift from their unmatched courage and selflessness. Wishing everyone a peaceful, safe, and reflective day with loved ones. 🕊️🇺🇸As President Ronald Reagan once noted, "We owe them a debt we can never repay." Let us live in a way that honors their memory every single day.

A Continual Feast 05/24/2026

Glass Half Empty or a Continual Feast? 🍽️✨

Happy Sunday, church family! This has been an incredibly big week for my family. My wife, Jeanne, retired on Friday after close to 30 years of teaching school! She has made such a massive difference in the lives of so many kids across Mississippi, Indiana, and Georgia. I am beyond blessed that she has been my bride for over 43 years now. ❤️

In today's message, we are diving into a verse from Proverbs that is spot on for the world we live in right now:
📖 "For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast." — Proverbs 15:15

Your attitude is the lens through which you see your entire life. Two people can experience the exact same event—one will complain about how bad it was, while the other is just happy it happened.

Are you stuck in a "pessimist default setting," or are you ready to cultivate a happy heart rooted in faith? Let's lay down the "Eeyore" mindset and choose joy today!

Family Treasure 05/17/2026

Ever received an "inheritance" check so small it felt like a joke? 😅 In this week's message, I share a story from 2001 about an oil-rich inheritance in Mississippi that ended up being exactly $63.44.
It reminds me of Proverbs 15:6: "In the house of the righteous there is much treasure..." But does that mean loving God makes you financially rich?
We are diving deep into scripture to debunk the misconceptions about biblical wealth and shifting our focus to the priceless spiritual benefits found in Psalm 103.

Divine Surveillance 05/10/2026

👁️ DIVINE SURVEILLANCE: There are no secrets from God.
Happy Sunday, Facebook family! 🙏✨
Think about how many security cameras you passed today. Between video doorbells, traffic cameras, and home security systems, we are almost always being watched. Most people only like surveillance when they are the ones in control of the camera.
But today’s verse reminds us of a much bigger reality. Proverbs 15:3 says: “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.”
Now, that is good news if you are behaving. It is bad news if you are living in a way you shouldn't.
In this week's message, we look at King David’s absolute worst moment in 2 Samuel 11-12. He was the most powerful man on earth. He committed adultery with Bathsheba, covered it up, and had her husband killed on the front lines. He thought he got away with it. But Almighty God saw everything. When the prophet Nathan confronted him with the words, "You are that man!" David was completely busted.
But there is a beautiful flip side to this truth. Later in life, an older and wiser David wrote Psalm 139. He realized that God’s constant gaze isn’t just about catching us doing wrong—it’s about a loving Father who guides us, protects us, and knows our hearts completely.
If we always remember that God is watching, we will live better lives.
