It is recommended for poultry consumers to be weary of undercooked poultry and raw eggs.

The FDA has removed authorization for the use of FD&C Red No. 3 in food and ingested drugs due to potential cancer risks. Manufacturers of food and ingested drugs will have until January 15, 2027 and January 18, 2028 to remove FD&C Red No.3 from products.

Today is World Diabetes Day and we take this day to continue to spread information about diabetes and how that can affect those living with it.
Currently, an approximate 830 million people in the world live with diabetes and there is currently no cure for it.
Although there isn't a cure, it doesn't mean that one can't continue to live their best life while living with diabetes. The goal is to maintain a healthy lifestyle including healthy meals, physical activity, and a balanced mental space.

The American Cancer Society's 'Facts & Figures' sheet depicts that 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer; and 1 in 43 women will die from it.
The month of October is dedicated to continuing to raise awareness about breast cancer. There are currently clinical trials centered around using biomarkers to test breast cancer tissue; newer breast imaging tests being used and studied; as well as, certain medications being targeted specifically toward breast cancer.
Please remember to perform your own breast self-exam often and familiarize yourself with how your breasts look and feel. If there is anything out of what YOU consider normal with your breasts, check in with your doctor. It is always a good rule of practice to ask and check with a doctor to rule anything out and ask questions.

Yesterday, October 15th, was Global Handwashing Day. Handwashing has managed to be one effective method of slowing and stopping the spread of germs.
Did you know that washing your hands with soap and water has a 99.9% chance of reducing bacteria on your hands?
According to Pfizer, our hands carry on average, 3,200 different germs belonging to more than 150 species.
Remember to wash your hands using soap and water for at least 20 seconds and let's continue to spread the message along and raise awareness on the importance of washing our hands!

October 10th is World Mental Health Day.
The objective for this day is to raise awareness for mental health overall. There are a multitude of reasons that someone's mental health could be affected from personal to work-related, from a young age to older age and everything in between.
While there are many ways to go about showing up for yourself through the down days with some of our favorite activities, the most important thing is to remember to take the time that you need to get back to yourself.
