ANNOUNCEMENT NEWS! This month, I started my new role as Development Associate at Partners Southeast. I will have the opportunity to help to build communities in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, my home state :) 

I am excited about the opportunity to combine my personal why of "transforming the way communities operate", working with a purpose, and helping the residents of Louisiana.

Not only am I grateful for the ones that helped me to achieve this goal, I am also proud of me. If you have had the opportunity to have met me in these past 365 days, then you know how hard I have worked to make this dream a reality. 

I again thank all who have assisted me.

On May 28th, I graduated from the Urban Land Institute's REDI Real Estate Development Program in New Orleans. Though virtual, the 15-week program was a fantastic opportunity for me learn and connect with people in the industry. The day after our graduation, my classmates and a few of the mentors were able to meet in person. The program was a wonderful experience. I am excited about my journey in development and am confident it will one day allow me to help the residents of Louisiana.

🚨EMERGENCY PLAN MUST HAVES!

1) Provide residents with emergency numbers to have on-hand to reference. They should include the fire department, police department (non-emergency), poison control, and the after-hours emergency number for management

2) Clearly mark all emergency exits and fire-safe stairwells; for larger properties, place diagrams where tenants can clearly see them (elevators).

3) Make sure fire extinguishers are strategically placed throughout the property and are clearly visible.

4) Make sure you are aware of any residents who may have difficulty evacuating such as the elderly or handicapped.

5) Encourage residents to develop their own personal emergency plans.

Because of Covid-19, more people are staying home and working remotely. This makes risk management crucial. It is of the utmost importance thatmaintenance should know how to identify potential risks such as tree limbs, trip hazards,loose electricals, faulty windows, leaks, mold and even unsafe work practices.
