Every birthday, every year for almost a decade has been so bittersweet…
I feel so honored that I get to turn another year older each year. It is a blessing to enter another decade this week 💖🎂
However, I’ll be reminded for the rest of my life that my brother was robbed of that right and honor of growing older. Some years, it hits me harder and this year was one of them. Sometimes I know why and some years I don’t know why… I think entering a new decade and a milestone year hit me.
The last time I entered a new decade - he was taken two months after. It changed me forever.
He would’ve been 37 on Monday and that feels crazy because he will forever be 27.
I hope you had a beautiful birthday in Heaven, Andreas. I hope you’re proud of me and you’re watching over me. I love you and I’m honored to be able to keep living life for both of us. And, I feel especially lucky to share our birthday 🎂💖🥂🍾
Thanks for all the birthday wishes - I had the best birthday trip!!!

Vacation and 40th birthday has begun…. Officially OOO… trying really hard not to work 🤷🏻‍♀️🤞🏻
A lot of women are building businesses that look successful online but don’t actually support them financially, mentally, or logistically.
I’m far more interested in building something sustainable than building something that photographs well.
That might mean fewer offers. A smaller team. Slower growth. Changing direction when something isn’t working.
The goal isn’t to perform entrepreneurship.
The goal is to build a business that works for your actual life.
Everyone wants to be an entrepreneur but not everyone wants to do what it takes…
Turns out, creating freedom and allowing yourself to experience it are two completely different skills.
I’m still working on the second one.
Yes, some businesses take off quickly. Some people replace their salary in six months. Some entrepreneurs work three hours a day from the beach.
But those stories are memorable precisely because they aren’t the typical experience.
Most businesses take longer, cost more, and require far more reinvention than the internet prepared women for.
That doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you were given the exception and told it was the blueprint.
Everything is figureoutable.
That doesn’t mean the answer will be obvious, easy, or found on the first try. It means you don’t have to know exactly how to do something before you begin.
Most of entrepreneurship is simply deciding you’ll keep working the problem until you find a way forward.
What are you figuring out in your business right now?
Entrepreneurship can create freedom—but freedom is the result, not the starting point.
The internet skips over the part where you’re learning, adjusting, making expensive mistakes, and trying to trust decisions nobody else can make for you.
What part of entrepreneurship were you completely unprepared for?
Content can market your business. It should not have to hold the entire business together.
A real business still needs a clear problem, a paying customer, and an offer people genuinely want.
Do you think social media has made entrepreneurship easier—or just louder?
