▪️When choosing a builder it’s important to do your research. Check out their reviews, look at their work, and most importantly ask questions.

▪️Always look over the contracts. Since Georgia is an attorney state, if there is something you don’t understand, consult with an attorney before signing. If you don’t know an attorney, ask your Realtor to refer you to one.

▪️Always get an inspection. Yes the house is brand new, but the builders are human. Sometimes people make mistakes. You want to be certain everything is the way it should be before you take possession of the property.

▪️Upgrades can get pretty expensive and also adds more costs means a higher monthly payment. If possible, allow the builder to complete only the necessary upgrades such as the kitchen or bathrooms. Once you’re in the home you can hire someone to do the additional upgrades at a much lower price than what the builder was charging.

▪️Hire a Realtor. The agent on-site works for the builder. You want to make sure you are being represented by someone who has your best interest. Also your Realtor will help relieve some of the stress by handling tough situations as they arise. There is a lot that comes with building a home, and you don’t want to go through with it alone.
