but in the quiet, steady kind of love

the kind their children will grow up knowing
as their world grows
and their hearts keep getting fuller

9 months in, 9 months out ✨ never wanting to forget this toothy smile, chunky thighs and that glow in her eyes.

9 months ago, we were waiting on this happy girl’s arrival when asked me to take her maternity photos. now Josie is 9 months old and the most beautiful addition to their family.

Scenes from the day Shalom received his name and was welcomed into the covenant with God.

As a photographer, I wanted to follow the mother — to feel what she was feeling, but see what she could not. Her tears became mine. Standing at a distance, watching her baby cry, knowing how deeply her heart must have ached in that moment.
And then, the tears of joy… as God breathed the name Shalom into her heart.
Rejoicing alongside her community as her seven-day-old son entered into a sacred bond, surrounded by love, faith & generations of tradition.
I am endlessly grateful to document the beauty, strength & holiness within the Jewish community and its rituals.
