I’ll never forget a Summer Xtreme Kids Camp at Free Chapel years ago when one of our guitar players called out. With only 30 minutes before camp started, the only person I could think to call was Rex Without hesitation, he said, “I’ll be there.” He showed up, and the rest is history.

Rex became a present part of our KidPak worship band, KP7. We shared some of the most fun and unforgettable years leading kids in worship together. We were building something at our church that would impact lives for years to come. Rex was a big part of that story.

I also had the privilege of taking him with me to the Philippines on a mission trip, where he played guitar with our band. I’ll never forget laughing so hard at Rex’s antics that entire week.

Rex brought joy, laughter, and his own unique personality wherever he went. He was one of a kind—carefree, childlike, comedic, dependable, and truly rare. There was no one quite like him.

Those of us who served with him in children’s ministry will never forget him. He never missed a Sunday. He was committed to his craft and faithfully used his gifts to serve the Lord.

Thank you, Rex, for giving your all in this life. I can’t help but imagine you somewhere in heaven, maybe wearing a space helmet, sporting a mohawk, and shredding your guitar for the Lord.

Until we meet again, my friend. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

My wife and I so enjoyed teaching our Maymester class. Every marriage needs help no matter what season you’re in. No marriage is perfect; that’s why there’s GRACE.

Happy Birthday to my lil’ sidekick for the past 25 years. So many precious memories of you. Your future is as bright and beautiful as you are. Can’t tell you how blessed I am to be your Dad.💎

The mom of all moms! Our family is what it is because of you. I’m a better man and our kids are blessed in every way. Thank you for all you are and all you do for us. We’d be a bunch of lost pups without you. The love you give is beyond what any of us could ask for.
