Las Vegas Nights rocking another event
Thank you for the amazing night

I don’t wake up trying to be better than people.

I just refuse to operate at a level
that doesn’t match who I’m becoming and who and what I have outgrown.

That part.

If you cried this week and still showed up… this is for you

“Sunday reminder: You didn’t come this far just to break down and stay there. You are a woman who has fought through things people will never even understand. You’ve carried weight in silence, shown up when you were exhausted, and kept going when quitting would’ve been easier. That’s not luck—that’s strength.

Yes… life will hit you. It will test you, stretch you, and sometimes sit heavy on your chest to the point where all you can do is cry. And you know what? Cry. Let it out. Feel every ounce of it. Give yourself that moment… that day. But hear me clearly—don’t unpack there.

Because you are not defined by the fall. You are defined by the rise.

So after the tears dry, after the moment passes, you straighten your back, fix your crown, and you get back up like you always do. Not because it’s easy, but because it’s who you are. A builder. A creator. A woman who refuses to let obstacles rewrite her story.

Every setback is shaping you. Every delay is preparing you. Every closed door is redirecting you. And everything you’ve been working for? It’s still yours.

So this Sunday, remind yourself: I can feel it, but I will not stay in it. I can bend, but I will not break. I can fall, but I will always rise.

Now shake that s**t off, take a deep breath, and keep going. Your life is still waiting on you to show up and claim it.

Last June I was in Israel…sitting in a bomb shelter during missile sirens, questioning if I would make it home before one hit us. It was all so close around us.

When I finally touched down in Atlanta, something in me shifted.

I stopped waiting.
I stopped overthinking.

In less than 3 weeks, I cast, shot, and funded this film,
“Don’t Say Nothing”

Life has a way of reminding you how short and fragile it really is…and when it does, you move differently.

I can’t wait to share this project with you all.

One day I’ll tell the full story of what happened in Israel and how it led to this film.

Let me tell y’all something most people don’t know.

Before Netflix.�Before Tubi.�Before algorithms deciding what gets seen…

Independent filmmakers had to figure it out on their own.

When I made my first short film “The Funeral,” in 2006, there was no CoCo Studios.

No money�No distributor.�No platform waiting for me.

So I did what I had to do.

I burned the DVDs myself.�Designed the cover myself.�Printed the artwork.�
Loaded them into the trunk of my car.

And I would literally pull up places… pop the trunk… and sell the film directly to people.

I needed to pay my rent!

I was parking lot hustling trying to reach my audience.
Back then we didn’t call it content creation.
We called it grinding.

Those trunk days taught me everything about believing in your work and getting it in front of people by any means necessary.

Fast forward years later… you see CoCo.. CorShonda put in that work.

And I will never forget where it started.
So if you’re in your grind season right now… keep going.
Sometimes the trunk era turns into the empire era.
