SafeHouse Outreach is an urban outreach committed to effecting real change

We asked Atlanta’s unhoused community:

“When was the last time you felt seen?”

Their answers remind us that people experiencing homelessness are human beings, just like us.

Before homelessness is a housing issue, it’s a people issue.

At SafeHouse Outreach, we believe dignity matters. Because when someone has spent months or years seeing others look away, being seen can be the first step toward stability.

Take a listen. 💛

And let us know in the comments: When was the last time you felt seen?

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

We also remember the thousands of veterans who continue to face homelessness after returning home. At SafeHouse Outreach, we remain committed to serving our community with dignity, compassion, and hope.

Today, we pause in gratitude for their sacrifice and service. 💛

🏡 A New Home for David!

Please join us in celebrating David K., who recently moved into his new home at Castleton Apartments with the help of our staff member, LaShundra. 💛

After facing difficult circumstances, David now has a safe and stable place to call home. Stories like this remind us of the power of compassionate support, housing resources, and community partnership.

Congratulations, David, on this exciting new chapter!

Yesterday, we celebrated the birthday and legacy of SafeHouse Outreach founder Philip Bray alongside our friends and volunteer group, New Birth.

It was a special evening filled with service, fellowship, and remembrance as we honored a man whose heart for people continues to shape SafeHouse Outreach today.

Thank you, New Birth, for helping us continue Philip Bray’s legacy of loving people where they are. 💛

In honor of his birthday, we invite you to join our $19.82 Keep the Legacy Alive Campaign by giving $19.82 to help continue the mission he started more than 30 years ago.

Today, we celebrate the birthday and legacy of our founder, Philip Bray. 💛

My dad believed deeply in one simple truth: “Love them where they are.” That belief became the foundation of SafeHouse Outreach and continues to guide the work we do every single day.

Whether it’s serving a meal, helping someone secure housing, replacing vital documents, or simply listening to a friend who needs hope, his legacy continues to live on through this community.

Together, we can continue building hope, loving people where they are, and moving lives forward throughout Atlanta.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want you to know that you are not alone if you are struggling with your mental health.

What is mental health? Mental health refers to our emotional, psychological, and social functioning. We all have mental health, and just like our physical health, we experience ups and downs.

So if you or someone you know is navigating mental health concerns, remember, “it’s okay to not be ok” and you have options for support!

For more than 30 years, we have served individuals experiencing extreme poverty and who are unhoused in downtown Atlanta through housing support, vital documents, workforce development, mental health services, case management, and street outreach.

Each weekday evening, we also welcome hundreds of friends through our nightly Impact Services, where meals, conversation, and community come together to create an environment of dignity and hope.

As the need continues to grow, we are looking for churches, businesses, families, and volunteer groups willing to help provide meals during our weekly Impact Services.

Please visit, https://www.safehouseoutreach.org/volunteer.html and/or contact us at [email protected] to get involved.

Together, we can continue building hope and moving lives forward. 💛
