What an amazing group of COMCorps members and supervisors! We spent the morning together at our annual site supervisor breakfast preparing for an amazing year of service in southeast Ohio. Members wrap up orientation on Monday and will be out serving at their sites for the next 11 months making a difference in their communities!

Athens County Launches Countywide Fare-Free Public Transit

Athens, OH – Athens Public Transit and Athens On Demand Transit are now completely fare-free for all riders through April 2026, thanks to funding from AmeriHealth Caritas Ohio. This includes fixed-route and on-demand services across Athens County.

Riders can simply board—no cost, no ID, no qualifications required.

Save the date, Athens County! ATCO Idol is on May 20, 6 p.m., at Stuart’s Opera House.

Performers are practicing, choosing songs, and getting ready! It will be an amazing line-up.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Join us!

Today Lee did his first public presentation at The Plains Public Library! He presented on sharks and did an amazing job! Thanks to everyone who came out to learn about sharks!

Join us for our next Teen Time event – Percussion Night at the Athens High School on April 17!

All skill levels are welcome. We will learn from Band Director Aaron Backes and current Athens High School percussion students!

We will meet in the Athens High School (1 High School Rd, The Plains) in the cafeteria from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Instruments will be provided.

Teen Time is open to any teen / young adult age 13-21 who is eligible or may be eligible for ACBDD services.

Best buddies and @ou4paws are coming together this Thursday March 20th for a meeting! Bring your friends and come to Ellis 014 from 6-7pm to meet the OU 4 Paws service dogs and talk about service animals and accessibility 🦮

Like to be creative and spend time outside? We have just the program for you!🎨🌳

Join us for our Art in the Park series! This series will take place on the first Friday of the month from March- May. Each program will take place at a different park location and will include supplies for a self-guided craft/art activity (while supplies last). This program is free and open to all (families, adults, etc.)!

March 7th 5:30 to 6:30pm - Bike Path Poetry @ West State Park
Write poems, haikus, encouraging words/phases, or simply draw with chalk on the bike path section that goes through West State Park. Help brighten up the bike path for future users.

April 4th 5:30 to 6:30pm - Paint at the Pond @ Sells Park
Use watercolors on paper to create art inspired by the nature around you.

May 2nd 5:30 to 6:30pm- Nature Art @ Richland Park
Use items from nature to create works of art, this includes leaf printing and more.
