Welcome to the AMBL Team, Carlie Belle!

Carlie Belle recently graduated from the University of North Alabama with a degree in Interior Architecture & Design and is currently pursuing her MBA, also through UNA. She joined AMBL as an intern in December and has since transitioned to a full-time role, assisting with construction documents, project organization, design presentations, and day-to-day studio operations. Her design interests center on hospitality, commercial, and community-focused work. Outside the studio, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, shopping, and exploring new places. Carlie is excited to keep growing professionally while contributing to the creative culture at AMBL.

: Athens Main Street and the Limestone County Commission have entered into an agreement establishing a partnership to restore and reimagine the Limestone County Courthouse grounds in downtown Athens, a project born of the devastation caused by a December 2024 tornado and designed to create a lasting community gathering place for generations to come.

Project Spotlight: Baw Baw’s BBQ

Baw Baw’s is the newest addition to the Downtown Athens restaurant scene. This once rundown and flood-proned structure was historically used as a church, but has now been transformed into Athens’ newest BBQ joint. It’s instantly recognizable by its vibrant farmers market mural and the smell of smoked meats that fills the air.

AMBL helped business owners, Jimmy and Audrey McMeans, turn this vacant building into a functioning space just steps from the Athens Farmer’s Market. We even uncovered an old plaque that celebrates the rich history of the structure which was once burned during the Civil Rights Era. Next time you’re in Athens, support local and come try Baw Baw’s!
