🎥 We’re honored to share that Atlanta News First's latest investigation into special education services in Georgia is now live.
This important story highlights a growing issue across our state: as the number of students requiring special education services continues to increase, findings of noncompliance with special education law have risen dramatically as well. According to the report, Georgia districts were found out of compliance 190 times last year—nearly triple the number of findings reported in 2021.
We are especially proud of one of our families, the Bromanns, for courageously sharing their experience to help shine a light on the challenges many students with disabilities and their families face when trying to access a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). Their willingness to tell their story helps raise awareness and create meaningful conversations about accountability, training, and support for students with disabilities.
Advocacy creates change. Every student deserves an education that is individualized, appropriate, and designed to meet their unique needs.
Thank you to Andy Pierrotti and the AtlantaNewsFirst Investigates team for continuing to bring attention to these important issues.

Georgia law and federal law allow parents access to their child’s educational records. This includes behavior logs, teacher notes, emails, discipline forms, and documentation used in decisions.
If the school isn’t being transparent, that’s a warning sign.
