Some days, community impact looks like board meetings and grantmaking.
Other days, it looks like fidget spinners, stress balls, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart. 💛
Our small but mighty team at the Athens Area Community Foundation spent time packing sensory kits for Jasper County families participating in this summer’s bus tour led by Family Connection.
We are grateful for partners who show up for young people in meaningful ways and create experiences that encourage confidence, connection, and opportunity.
It is a reminder that philanthropy is not only about dollars. It is about people showing up for one another and helping create communities where every child feels supported and seen.
Wishing these families an incredible summer of connection, growth, and calm!

Professional advisors help shape the future of our communities in ways that often go unseen.
When attorneys, CPAs, and financial advisors help clients think generously and strategically, philanthropy becomes more than a transaction. It becomes a lasting investment in the places and people we love.
At the Athens Area Community Foundation, we are deeply grateful for the advisors who help families align their values with impact, steward generosity across generations, and make more possible right here at home.
Local leadership. Trusted relationships. Lasting impact.

Big things grow when generosity and vision come together.
The Athens Area Community Foundation is proud to announce a $50,000 commitment from the Elizabeth Price Dolvin Foundation to support downtown redevelopment efforts in Watkinsville.
This one-time investment will help advance the public plaza work being led by OCAF as part of a broader master plan focused on connectivity, gathering spaces, and the future of downtown Watkinsville.
Projects like this remind us of what philanthropy can do when donors invest not only in places, but in people, community, and shared experiences.
We are deeply grateful to the Elizabeth Price Dolvin Foundation for helping make more possible through the Athens Area Community Foundation and for believing in the power of vibrant public spaces to strengthen community life for generations to come.
Thank you to OCAF, the City of Watkinsville, and all the partners helping bring this vision to life.

What a powerful morning with the Madison County Chamber Nonprofit Roundtable last week.
The real story is this: local nonprofit leaders showed up. They leaned into conversation, asked thoughtful questions, shared challenges honestly, and continued doing what strong communities require most — learning together.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to share about mission, vision, sustainability, and the many ways local philanthropy can strengthen the work happening across our region.
Thank you to the Madison County Chamber for creating space for meaningful connection and for championing the nonprofit community so well. The future is brighter when leaders gather around shared purpose.

Great conversations, meaningful connections, and a whole lot of community spirit 💙
The Athens Area Community Foundation was excited to attend and table at the 2nd Annual Greene County Youth Wellbeing Summit, sharing resources and connecting with community partners who are all working toward a stronger future for Greene County youth.
This year’s summit was especially meaningful as it marked the final summit led by outgoing Greene County Family Connection Executive Director Targie Folds who is a longtime Community Foundation partner and whose leadership and heart have made a lasting impact across the community. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside her over the years ✨
We also loved celebrating the presentation of the very first “Key Collaborator Award,” honoring a community member whose incredible partnership and dedication have helped move the work of Greene County Family Connection forward in such a powerful way.
Community happens when people show up for each other, and this summit was full of exactly that 🙌

What better place to enjoy a Golden Pantry Biscuit and learn about gifts of non-cash assets with the Athens Area Community Foundation?
We were proud to host our Ready, Set, GROWTH: Advisor Leadership Lab at the beautiful UGA West End Zone, a fitting space for a morning focused on big ideas, meaningful connection, and community impact. 🏟️
It was a pleasure welcoming such an engaged group of CPAs, attorneys, and professional advisors for thoughtful conversation around relationship-centered advising and charitable planning. We’re especially grateful to Bryan Clontz of Charitable Solutions for sharing his expertise and insight with attendees.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so impactful!
