Athens Area Mediation Service (AAMS) is delighted to continue partnering with the Athens County Department of Job and Family Services (ACDJFS) on the Rural Empowerment project supported by the JAMS Foundation and the National Association for Community Mediation. Through this project, AAMS makes mediation services available to customers and staff of ACDJFS. In doing so we support the fine work of ACDJFS toward peace and justice in the Athens County community.

Athens Area Mediation Service will not hold our SouperBowl fundraiser next year, in 2025.

It has been increasingly difficult to secure enough handmade bowls to hold the event, and we simply cannot make our quota for our regularly scheduled winter SouperBowl. We are hopeful that we might be able to hold a SouperBowl in 2026, but that will depend on our capacity to procure enough bowls to do so.

We will miss seeing all of our friends and supporters, but rest assured that we are still in business conducting mediations and training as requested by community members, organizations, and our valued partners.

We are truly grateful for the donations of food, bowls, and moral support we’ve received over the years from local restaurants and other businesses, including the Dairy Barn! Without you, we could not have enjoyed such successful SouperBowls in years past. We are also grateful to the following partners and funders: the JAMS Foundation, the National Association for Community Mediation, the Athens County Foundation, and the Athens County Department of Job and Family Services and OhioMeansJobs.
