Partnerships between ACCPD’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) and community members help make Athens-Clarke County safer. Recently, the RTCC and our Property Crimes Unit worked together to arrest a suspect now facing several charges, including Entering Auto and Financial Transaction Fraud. The suspect had stolen several financial transaction cards along with two fi****ms from vehicles in the downtown area. The Athens-Clarke County Police Department would like to remind the community of the importance of securing valuable items that are left in vehicles!
To learn more about how you can partner with the RTCC, please contact Nick Barker at 762-400-7077 / [email protected] or visit https://www.accgov.com/11634/Real-Time-Crime-Center.

It was smiles all around as our officers visited the YWCO Girls Club Camp earlier this week. The campers met Master Police Officer Courtney Gale and Senior Police Officer Kayante Gresham-Jackson and learned more about personal safety and our police vehicles. The camp was held at Howard B. Stroud Elementary.

Finding hope inside the walls of a prison may seem impossible, but recent Beyond the Bars participants experienced exactly that: hope, redemption, and a renewed vision for a stronger future.
Eleven youth participants and their parents spent a recent Saturday morning hearing powerful lived experiences from parents, community members, and individuals who shared the real consequences of high-risk choices within the walls of the Athens-Clarke County Corrections Facility. This is not a “Scared Straight” program. Instead, Beyond the Bars focuses on second chances, community support, meaningful connections, and positive pathways that inspire lasting behavioral change.
Held monthly, these sessions welcome a new group of youth and their parents to learn together that there are opportunities for change, growth, and hope. To register for this free workshop, please email program coordinator Keith Sims, ACCPD Neighborhood Service Officer, at [email protected], or register at https://forms.gle/LPYMwKv8FgbE4T2u5
