Higher education can be one of the strongest protective factors against homelessness for young adults. Accessing and completing college, however, can be especially challenging for students navigating financial aid, rising costs, and limited campus support.

SchoolHouse Connection has created a helpful video highlighting practical tools that support FAFSA completion and help students persist through college. Resources include determination tools, screening checklists, sample statements, webinar recordings, FAFSA guidance, customizable presentations, and strategies for supporting students after enrollment.

What does the research tell us, and how can it improve outcomes for students?

Researchers in the Embark Georgia Research Consortium (EGRC) collaborate to learn about the intersection of postsecondary education and foster care and homelessness experience. ✨ Creating meaningful experiences that inspire what’s next!

What an honor to help support Georgia CREW (Cultivating the Rising Experienced Worker) as youth in foster care from across Georgia build leadership skills, career readiness, confidence, and connections to networks and resources. Over the last seven weeks, we facilitated virtual learning sessions designed to help students grow personally and professionally.

Creating spaces where students feel empowered to grow and explore their potential is work we’re proud to be part of! Thank you to everyone who made this experience meaningful for these incredible young people.🎒
