Carly Kiser is our newest Shining Star recipient, and she sure is deserving!

President Linda Fife and Elaine Wetzel presented the award, and Elaine did a wonderful job of listing Caryl’s many accomplishments as a DD sister!

Foundation scholarship provider, president for 7 years, chair of convention when it was held in Athens, organized DD’s involvement with the playground and initially with the PBJ projects, membership on so many committees and so much more!!

Congratulations, dear sister, Caryl! We love you and are so happy to name you our 8th Shining Star!!

Our June meeting was definitely a good one!

It’s always fun to receive a reminder of how much we mean to each other!

The hostesses for this meeting, Laurie Campitelli and Elaine Wetzel, are not only DD sisters, but actual sisters, as well. They did not purposely color coordinate their outfits, but they sure were sharing the same vibe today!

Caryl Kiser received a wonderful award which deserves its own post, so look for that because it’s special!

Finally, our convention delegate, Lori Sauer, gave a great recap of her experience!

Happy summer, DD!

The 98th convention of Ohio State Chapter was held in Columbus with Lori Sauer (delegate), Becky Austin (alternate), Cheryl Robb and Linda Fife attending the full convention, and April Gamertsfelder and Jessica Fucci Downs attending the Projects Luncheon and/or the Time of Remembrance! What a wonderful two days of sisterhood, recognitions and celebrations! 💚

Chapter G celebrated their 100th anniversary this year. What a milestone! Several of our Chapter DD sisters took part in the festivities along with three state officers. Congratulations to Chapter G! One hundred years of helping young women reach for the stars.

Ann Grover joined Chapter DD in 1964. That means she became one of our Golden Girls in 2014 when she hit 50 years of membership! She passed away on April 19, 2026, and saying goodbye to a sister is always hard. She was vibrant, a wonderful hostess, and the epitome of what it means to be a P.E.O. Rest in peace, dear Ann. You’ll be missed.

What a lovely day spending time together at our annual Founders’ Day! It’s always nice to remember and celebrate the seven young women who founded P.E.O. 157 years ago at Iowa Wesleyan College.

Local author, Darleen Innis, was the speaker at our April meeting, and she gave a wonderful presentation! Her books, Women of the Guild and Run, Run are delightful and take place in Athens, Ohio! Many area landmarks are part of the stories. Darleen is currently working on her third book.
