ATHENS IS GOING TO ATLANTA FOR THE SPECIAL SESSION ON JUNE 17TH! RSVP: tinyurl.com/ATH2ATL

At our monthly meeting, the committee approved funds to rent a bus to take people from Athens to the capitol to support voting rights groups who have organized rallies at the capitol on June 17th.

After a ruling from the Supreme Court on the Voting Rights Act, the Governor has called for the state legislature to return to session. Elected Republicans plan to redraw the maps to ensure their victory in every election. The decisions made in the coming weeks will shape how communities across Georgia are represented for years to come. Fair maps matter because every voter deserves an equal voice in our democracy.

We do not have all of the details yet, but we need folks to RSVP to finalize details. If you plan on going, please fill out this form: tinyurl.com/ATH2ATL

If you would like to contribute to the cost or be a sponsor, donations are accepted here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/ath2atl

Today is hard. I poured my heart and soul into this campaign, and while this wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, I’m incredibly grateful for every person who believed in me, stood beside me, volunteered, donated, encouraged me, and helped build something I’ll always be proud of.

I’m proud of the issues we fought for, the conversations we started, and the community we built together. I’m especially proud of my team, who gave so much of themselves to this effort.

Running for office pushed me far outside my comfort zone, and no matter what happens next, I’ll always be grateful that I took this leap. We need more working-class political outsiders to take the same leap and challenge the entrenched status quo in Washington. That road is difficult, but it is essential for our democracy, now more than ever.

I still believe deeply in the possibility of a better future, and I sincerely wish Pamela success moving forward. Our communities deserve thoughtful leadership and real progress.

Thank you for believing in me and for being part of this journey. This may be the end of this campaign, but it is not the end of my commitment to the people and values that brought us here.

We need to do everything we can to win on Tuesday, and then no matter the outcome, we need to be ready to fight for fair maps on June 17. Justice isn’t won or lost in an election cycle. It’s won when we don’t give up. It’s won when we show up year after year, generation after generation, to keep fighting for justice for all people. I hope to see you at the ballot box on Tuesday, and then at the state capitol in June.

We are focused on the election until Tuesday, but save the date for special session on June 17th! If you are able, get off work. We need to make sure our voices are heard at the capitol: stop with the unhinged gerrymandering and give us fair maps!

More details to come.

It's now $1 BILLION of OUR MONEY that Trump has demanded for his ballroom. And Congressional Republicans revealed yesterday that they're eager to indulge their leader.

Let's not forget: Trump originally told us that the ballroom's price tag would be $200 million and paid for by private donors. That total quickly rose to $250 million and then $300 million, but the promise was still that MAGA donors would foot the bill. By the end of last year, the boondoggle had risen to $400 million.

Now it's a BILLION dollars of our taxpayer dollars Republicans vow to give Trump for his disgusting vanity project.

What would YOU rather us spend a billion dollars on?
