Help the Nashville Zoo fight a data center! This will undoubtedly be awful for the animals- just look up what it’s like living next to a data center. The sound, the noise, the water issues- awful.
Their Change petition is in the post!

Nashville Zoo has shared a plea with their community to help oppose a 69,220 square-foot AI data center being built adjacent to the zoo.

The facility is planned to be a single-story data center called ā€˜DC Blox Data Center’ and constructed directly beside the zoo. Georgia-based developer, DC BLOX, claims that the proposed facility will create no environmental impact on the area, but Nashville Zoo was quick to refute that claim: ā€œno environmental studies or impact assessments have been conducted to evaluate potential effects on our animals, visitors, staff, or the surrounding community.ā€ They also stated data centers pose immense, current, strain to power grids, and water resources — all of which are crucial for keeping their animals, guests, and employees safe.

Now, Nashville Zoo is asking for help. They say they cannot afford to put animals or their community at risk, even years into the future.

Nashville Zoo wants you to join in their fight to oppose this proposal. If you are interested, you can sign their Change.org petition here: https://www.change.org/p/nashville-zoo-says-no-to-proposed-data-center

HELLO FRIENDS! 05/29/2026

I am *always* slow to transfer updates from the IG to the Ko-fi, despite the fact that this is our main fundraising source (A whole $327 per month! That's one spay and some food! Y'all are the best) but I will TRY to get better at this. I suppose we could do Patreon as well, but I'm not sure what to even offer for rewards when I'm already overwhelmed 24/7- and I don't like updates being trapped behind a paywall. Here, everything is public whether people can afford to donate or not, and transparency really matters to me/us.

Anyways, here's a really quick roundup blog!

Blinkin is OBSESSED with his donut. He’s working on his farmer’s tan.

Apologies for the slow posts- I’m one person running all this, and I’m out of town for work. Rescue doesn’t pay, quite the opposite, and everything I do here is a labor of love out of pocket. My wonderful, amazing husband is holding down the fort at home- all eleven cats, two snakes, and four spiders.
Our fosters are the best as always. I’ll be home June 5 and will try to update more often 🫔

No big news on the rescue front other than Iggy and Smush are going back with their foster for a bit and we’ll have new babies ready to meet you at soon! Iggy was not a fan of the adoption room and they are both extremely bonded, more than I realized.

You can get your own cat caves from .official . Use code ā€œoddpawsā€ and we get 30% of your order donated to the rescue! I promise now and always that I won’t be trying to sell you anything we don’t actually use ourselves.

Hope you are having the best of days!

ALL animals need our protection. We SHARE this planet.

A Florida panther sitting under the LAST remaining tree in a clear-cut wasteland should horrify every Floridian. This is what unchecked overdevelopment looks like.
Not ā€œsmart growth.ā€
Not ā€œprogress.ā€
Not ā€œconservation.ā€
This is habitat destruction on an industrial scale, wiping out some of the last remaining land the nearly extinct Florida panther has left to survive.

Meanwhile, developers cash in.
Politicians take donations.
And Florida’s wildlife pays the price.

The Florida panther is one of the rarest animals in America. Experts have warned for years that sprawling mega developments, road expansion, and destruction of rural land are pushing them closer to extinction.

And once these ecosystems are gone… they are gone forever.

People move to Florida for the beauty, wildlife, open land, clean water, and natural environment not endless concrete, traffic, pollution, and bulldozed wilderness.

At what point do we finally say ENOUGH?

Aaaa! We are so grateful to for this article in today!
I’ve never been great at interviews- it’s like when someone asks what your favorite movie is and suddenly you forget every movie you’ve ever seen, your name, and what planet you live on- but Libba did a fantastic job at making me sound like less of a goof.

Fingers crossed that someone adopts Muenster after reading this. He’s such a good boy, he has just decided he would prefer to be an only cat. Given where he came from, that’s totally understandable.

If anyone comes here from this article, he’s on the next slide!
