Red Dot Buildings was honored to serve as a Conference Partner at the 2026 THSADA State Conference and celebrate our third consecutive year exhibiting at this outstanding event.

Connecting with athletic directors and school leaders from across the state is always a highlight for our team. We're grateful for the opportunity to discuss how quality facilities can help schools strengthen athletic programs, serve their communities, and create lasting opportunities for students.

Intentional design isn't accidental; it's engineered. Our look inside the Aubrey High School indoor facility shows exactly what happens when smart architecture meets lasting performance.

Spanning 81,600 square feet, this facility features horizontally installed 7.2 panels paired with an R-30 liner insulation system at both the roof and walls, delivering strong thermal performance and long-term energy efficiency.

To create a brighter, more inviting environment, the building incorporates 37 Kalwall light panels (8' x 6'), bringing natural daylight into the space and enhancing the experience for athletes, students, and staff.

From thermal performance to natural daylighting, every element was selected to support the needs of the students and athletes who use the facility.

Memorial Day often comes with a lot of activity—sales, travel plans, and the unofficial start of summer.

But beneath all of that, it’s a day meant for something quieter.

A moment to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service, and to reflect on the reality that many of the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every day came at a cost.

The work we do, the goals we pursue, and the ability to build for the future are privileges made possible by sacrifices most of us will never fully understand.

Today, above all, a moment for gratitude, respect, and remembrance.

What does it take to push a metal building system beyond the “standard” expectations?

Our Texas Department of Transportation project in Paris, Texas, spans 87,400 square feet across multiple buildings—and while the project itself was completed a few years ago, recent photos gave us a great opportunity to revisit what made it stand out.

With FM Global 4471 roof criteria and no live-load reduction, this project required a more robust structural approach and a high-performance building envelope from the outset.

Key elements included Kingspan insulated metal panels at both roof and wall assemblies with 3-coat Kynar finishes, Morin aluminum perforated soffit and roof liner systems, and a 22-gauge 3-coat Kynar trim package featuring a 1-foot accent band. The project is also backed by a 20-year single-source, no-dollar-limit weathertightness warranty.

While the buildings themselves may not fit the traditional definition of a PEMB, for us at Red Dot Buildings, this level of complexity is right in our wheelhouse.

Projects like this highlight how metal building systems can be pushed further—meeting elevated performance standards without sacrificing efficiency, durability, or constructability.
