Today, Landmark Properties joins in commemorating Juneteenth, the federal holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States. This significant day in American history honors the strength and determination of those who fought for freedom and the lasting impact of their legacy.
 
Our offices are closed in recognition of this day and its importance in our nation’s history - we wish everyone a meaningful Juneteenth weekend.

This week, Landmark Properties, alongside HC2 Capital, LLC and Peninsula Investments Group, celebrated the official groundbreaking of The Retreat at Boone, a new cottage-style student housing community serving Appalachian State University.

Located on a 40-acre site in Boone, North Carolina, the community will deliver 625 beds for the Fall 27 academic year. The Retreat at Boone will feature over 12,500 square feet of amenities including a resort-style pool, fitness center, skate park, Jumbotron and a variety of indoor and outdoor gathering spaces.

As part of the ceremony, Landmark presented a $10,000 donation to Casting Bread, supporting its mission to address food insecurity across Western North Carolina through a community-centered food pantry and soup kitchen.

Situated near campus in the heart of Dinkytown, this 17-story, 1,021-bed community marks Landmark’s first student housing development in Minnesota. The property features fully furnished studio to five-bedroom residences with modern finishes, paired with a robust amenity offering that includes a resort-style outdoor pool with Jumbotron, cabanas, and a rooftop hot tub with views of Minneapolis and the Mississippi River, along with a fitness center, gaming and study lounges, interior courtyard spaces, and secure parking with bike and scooter storage.

Located steps from Florida State University in Tallahassee’s College Town neighborhood, this 860-bed student housing community is comprised of three mid-rise buildings across adjacent blocks. The development offers a mix of studio to six-bedroom, fully furnished residences with premium finishes, complemented by 30,000 square feet of amenities - including a rooftop clubhouse and resort-style pool deck overlooking Doak Campbell Stadium, a state-of-the-art fitness center with cold plunge and sauna, expansive study and collaboration spaces, and multiple indoor and outdoor social areas.

Last week, our Landmark Construction teams across the country came together to recognize National Construction Safety Week. Across our job sites, teams spent time engaging in Stand Down events, toolbox talks, and hands-on discussions designed to reinforce awareness, accountability, and care for one another.

These moments - shared in the field and supported by leadership - reflect our belief that safety is built through daily actions, open communication, and a commitment to sending everyone home safely. We’re proud of our teams across the country for leaning in and keeping safety part of the conversation, on every site and every day.

Last month, Landmark Properties celebrated two major milestones with the groundbreaking of The Mark Auburn near Auburn University and The Walk on Shop Road serving students at the University of South Carolina. Together, these developments represent more than 1,600 new beds delivering modern, high-quality student housing across two thriving SEC markets.
 
The Walk on Shop Road is slated to open for the 2027 academic year, while The Mark Auburn will deliver in 2028, with both communities featuring best-in-class amenities designed to support student life, wellness and connection. Each groundbreaking also included a $10,000 contribution to local organizations, supporting families and community initiatives in Auburn and neighborhood improvements in Columbia.
