A note to our supporters -

Today I want to pay tribute to Sen. Johnny Isakson. As you know, Sen. Isakson ran against my grandfather in the race for governor in 1990. Zell Miller won that election but later appointed Sen. Isakson to chair the State Board of Education. I was blessed to witness their relationship my entire life. They truly grew to respect each other and became real friends.

In a time when politics has become so uncivil and indecent, Sen. Johnny Isakson will be remembered as a public servant who led with civility and decency.

Sen. Isakson's mantra that "there are two types of people in this world: friends and future friends" is something people in politics from both sides of the aisle should take to heart.

God bless his wife, Diane, and all the Isakson family.

Today marks one year since Donald Trump's supporters attempted an insurrection against the United States government by storming the U.S. Capitol, all while Donald Trump himself tried to overturn the results of a legitimate election. It is the worst action of any president against our country in history.

Even worse, the Republican Party wants to pretend the failed insurrection didn't happen. Those same Republicans ignore the rule of law and have attempted to strip away the fundamental rights of millions of Americans.

Today, the GOP is actively undermining the rule of law, creating doubt in our democratic process, and engaging in an all out assault on the fundamental right to vote.

We cannot let that continue to happen. Democrats are the last best hope to save American democracy from the continued threat of Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

We can do something to protect this country and Georgia by electing Democrats who respect the constitution, stand up for civil and human rights, and who will restore faith, decency, integrity, and hope in our government for all citizens.

This election is a fight for the soul of our state. That's why I need your support.

Since my grandfather created it, nearly 2 million Georgians have gone to college on HOPE.
