Broken Dish

Some days you just feel like breaking something. 😂

Today I played with some pearls and a heart. It was fun. I have a few gaps but it was impossible to fill them with more of these pearls. I’m still trying to figure how to fill the gaps. It was fun and only took an hour after I figured It would help to us a tooth pick to place them.Suggestions welcomed.

Here’s a few of my mosaics that I have made. There are many dishes to break at the Broken Dish. My honey man has been busy cutting out some cement boards for classes. These can hang in your home or outside under a covered porch. Lets break some dishes together.

More Mosiacs and a new friend. Lots of fun at the Broken Dish.

We had lots of fun making Mosiacs and breaking dishes at the Broken Dish. Made some wonderful new friends and lots of memories. 12-2022

 Welcome to the Broken Dish Mosiacs and Art Studio. My introduction to Mosiacs was back when I was in the Aggie Moms Club in Athens Texas. Our club would have a boutique set up at College Station during Parents Weekend to raise funds to give scholarships to Texas A&M students from Henderson County. My friend Cindy Davis and I made several bird baths for the Aggie Moms Club. We had alot of fun and the bird baths were top sellers. It was a self taught hobby. Years before that my husband’s boss Mr Dedmon gave me a building for my art studio. I worked several years at The Carriage House in Athens helping Jo Hollinghworth teach oil painting , tole painting and decoupage. Life got busy and it kinda became a storage building. Until 2022. I had recently lost a dear friend and neighbor whom I helped daily. After her passing I had some free time. I began to declutter the building. A few years ago I took some mosiac classes to work on my skillset. My friend Sheila Walker went with me and needless to say we both fell in love (me) again with Mosiacs. With the help of my sweet friend McKim Corley we moved things out and my sweetheart Mike made improvements to the building. Then McKim and I moved the many dishes I had found into the building. I could not have done this without Mike and McKim. In December 2022 I had my first classes in The Broken Dish and Art Studio. We had a blast. I love art of all kinds and I love making new friends and I love teaching art classes and learning new art techniques. I will be posting many pictures and classes.
