The month of May is destined to highlight “Gertie”…the girl after my husband’s heart. She jumped in with a selfie on their 1st date at the feeder truck. Since then, I’ve had to keep my eye on her. She definitely wants my man.

Shout out this April to our favorite vaudeville comedy team… “Larry, Moe and Curly”.

They can be seen passing the day away rubbing their playful heads together, chasing the UTV across the field, or invading the personal space of their favorite human doing anything remotely interesting in their presence. Never a dull day with this trio.

Meet “Triple Three-etta”, aka “High-Horned Cow”, our March Cow-Of-The-Month!

Those horns alone have made many a cowboy pause. But don’t let them fool you. She’s known to be a lover if, and only if, you can gather her off the range. Her super power - evaporating into thin air when trying to drive her in (right Brit?).

Ahhh, but once in, she’s your pocket cow 🥰.

February’s Cow-of-the-Month is none other than our sweet “Valentine” posing here with her “Mini V” 💕. Valentine is definitely a ranch favorite, loved by all who are tasked with moooooooving her from pen to chute (especially Cardiff). She’s a stellar mom, vocal contributor to the herd, and never, I mean never, misses a meal.

Something new for 2026…
“Cow-of-the-Month” 🐮

Let’s start with “Mildred” the grand matriarch of our ranch. She was named in honor of Mildred Hopkins, the reason why our family does what it does, four generations later. Our oldest cow, she gently nurtures the rest of the herd, showing them the ropes and keeping them calm. Mildred is coming up on her 21st birthday, that’s 95 in cow years 😯. While we don’t expect her to “contribute” to the herd anymore, she has certainly earned her final retirement years here at the ranch until she chooses to graze in heavens pastures.

Our Cardi boy is just getting pretty for the ladies when they arrive 😜
