One World Midwives serves women and families worldwide through both direct action and midwifery training programs. We provide care to women and families where the need is the greatest by providing women's health and perinatal midwifery care to populations affected by conflict, disasters, or a lack of sufficient women’s healthcare. 2018 Women Helping Women Award Recipient

The Human Rights & Status of Women Committee is pleased to present this year’s Women Helping Women award to Jennifer Hampton Head, LM. Jennifer is the Executive Director of One World Midwives, and has been a birth professional for more than 15 years.

One World Midwives serves women and families worldwide where the need is greatest. Delivering emergency midwifery aid to those affected by conflict, natural disasters, or lack of women’s healthcare in an effort to reduce infant and maternal mortality.

Jennifer has provided volunteer midwifery services on both sides of the US-Mexico border, Uganda, the Philippines, the Lakota Nation, and most recently at the Rohingya Refugee Camp in Bangladesh.

The Women Helping Women Award is given in recognition of the extraordinary impact Jennifer is making in the lives of women and girls all around the world. To honor her work, the committee will award $500.00 to Jennifer’s chosen charity, Midwife Pilgrim, a non-profit she traveled with earlier this year during her trip to Bangladesh.
