On Denim Day, we reaffirm a simple truth: Clothing is never consent.

Denim Day began in response to a court ruling that blamed a survivor’s jeans for the violence committed against her. Today, it serves as a global reminder to challenge harmful narratives and reject victim-blaming.

What someone wears is never an excuse for harm.

We're celebrating Denim Day here at Porchlight!

National Denim Day is celebrated every April during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month; on this day, we wear denim to show visible support for survivors of sexual harm.

Today is Denim Day, a global day of action during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Wearing denim is a way to stand with survivors and challenge harmful myths about sexual violence.

If there's a survivor in your life who's still waiting on the sun,
let them know that you're there for them, even on the days
when all you can do is wait with them.
