Here at Stream Valley Veterinary Hospital, we utilize all forms of Fear Free techniques to help your pet feel the most comfortable in our care. However, not all Fear Free work is created equal~sometimes it just takes a peanut butter treat and other times it takes a bit of extra help.

In one instance, peanut butter was a perfect distraction from getting a microchip checked for an international health certificate. Not too many pets enjoy seeing an unfamiliar device near them, even if it doesn't touch them!

In other cases, medical intervention may be necessary when it comes to the really scary stuff, like getting their nails trimmed. We can give your pets a safe, reversible anesthetic that has them sleep through those scary moments. With a simple injection after the nails are in tip top shape, pets can be up and back home within the same hour.

Exciting news! We are so proud to share that our Veterinary Assistant, Kelsey, has been accepted into the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine! 🎉🎉

Kelsey will begin her studies at the end of August and is excited to pursue her goal of becoming a mixed animal veterinarian. We're even more excited that she plans to stay in Virginia after she graduates to continue caring for the animals and community she loves.
