July was a dream of all dreams. From the summit of 14ers, to alpine lakes, wildflower meadows, and desert landscapes I have truly found new ways to love Colorado even more.

I learned some lessons along the way too.

- Altitude sickness will actually ruin you. I sincerely thought I was dying. Drink electrolytes friends. In other news I became way better at drinking water on elopement days.

- Driving up a 14er is 1000x scarier than hiking it. My couple was spared my anxiety, and feel proud of myself for overcoming some fears.

- Mountain goats love getting way too close to people here. Yikes.

- Linen pants are best friends in the summer heat of Colorado.

- Don’t be afraid of harsh light, it’s still beautiful.

-Leave an hour earlier than you think you need to because thunderstorms will cause you to have to pull over and wait it out.

I believe in the concept of lifelong learning. While some of these lessons are a bit silly, others are real and I love the fact that I was able to learn and grow a little more. Thanks to all of my couples for their trust and sharing beautiful moments and days with me ❤️

Dexter made planned a family session on vacation, but worked behind the scenes with me to plan a very special moment for Jenny & Addy when he asked Jenny to marry him. Somehow we managed to avoid yesterday‘s storms for the perfect proposal! Thanks to this lovely family for spending an afternoon with me. I had so much fun with you 💕

I haven’t spent too much time in the Grand Lake area of Colorado. I’ve been through once or twice. Jay & Nick truly shared their special connection to this incredible mountain town with me on Saturday when they eloped with a handful of best friends and family present. They wore midsummer inspired floral crowns, watered a tree together from the waters of the Colorado River behind them, and had their parents give speeches throughout their very intentional ceremony which brought me to tears. Jay looked like a goddess in her custom gown, and their families supported them in the most kind and loving way. Thank you for sharing your day and showing me such an amazing place through your eyes Jay & Nick!

10/10 recommend running around with your partner in a thunderstorm outside the VT version of Disney’s Haunted Mansion and spraying champagne everywhere (including on your photographer).

Vanessa & Nathaniel’s hand fasting was so them that I left feeling extremely sad that it was over. Congratulations to these two on embracing the thunder. We truly did my favorite thing in the world and decided chaos was the move.

For Cortney & Rich, this venue was a dream come true to get married at. With a new home just purchased, two young kids to raise, and financial goals in the future it was just that, a dream. They didn’t think it would be possible in this life. A midweek wedding with 40 of their favorite people was. They planned for shoulder season knowing that the weather could be moody, but lucked out with a day which mirrored perfect summer weather.

Just when you think that dream wedding is unattainable, thinking a little more outside the box, downsizing, and creating something unique is often the solution!
