Physician Burnout: The Silent Killer — This new feature article by the GoInvo health design studio examines the public health crisis that is physician burnout.
Physician burnout is a problem that has been recognized for decades. More than half of physicians experience symptoms of burnout, a rate nearly double of workers in other professions after taking into account hours, work, age, s*x, and other factors. We’re losing physicians to burnout, drop out, and su***de at a rate of 28 to 40 per 100,000.

Understanding Coronavirus — The 2019 Novel Coronavirus, also known as Covid-19, caused an outbreak of respiratory illness in Wuhan, China and has since spread to other parts of China and the world. There is still a lot that we don’t know about Covid-19 and the situation is evolving day-by-day.
The GoInvo health design team has created an information visualization, which includes an overview of the coronavirus, a historical timeline, and info on prevention and caring for patients, all of which are cited and referenced from reputable sources.
The infovis is open source and available for download as a PDF poster here: https://www.goinvo.com/vision/coronavirus/
We'll be updating "Understanding Coronavirus" as more information becomes available.

Insuring a Price Increase — A new information visualization from the GoInvo health design team
Where do steep hospital prices come from? They aren't based in the true cost of care. Instead, they're determined by hospital and insurance negotiations. No one here is really thriving... but patients especially suffer from this system. We need our hospitals to measure their true costs, manage them, and share their prices transparently.

Announcing GoInvo's latest effort in our series of open source research and visualizations on the Determinants of Health: "Loneliness in Our Human Code" is a visual essay which explores how social determinants of health, with a focus on loneliness, affect health over the course of a lifespan, taking into consideration the unique circumstances and needs at each stage of life. Among social determinants of health, loneliness can hugely impact a person’s mental state, physical health, and overall well-being. Loneliness, and other social, circumstantial, and behavioral determinants have as much impact on your health as your biology or genetics. And, particularly at this time of year, as we approach the holiday season, loneliness can be a significant factor for people.
