As a young couple in the early 1930’s in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Troy and Gladys Alley, the parents of Gerald and Troy Alley Jr., dreamed of providing a better quality of life for their family. It was this desire that led the couple to embrace entrepreneurship and open the doors to the Alley Service Station, one of the city’s first Black-owned businesses.
