After almost a week of being stuck inside, some of you may need some ideas on what to do this weekend.
Things to do in Dallas-Fort Worth this weekend: February 3-5 North Texans have been stuck inside all week, so it is time to get out and have some fun! From comedy shows and concerts to performances that are fun for the whole family, there is a lot going on in DFW this weekend.
I’m so excited to be expanding my agency. I’m now a licensed agent in Arkansas. If you are looking to buy property in this beautiful state, I know an amazing realtor that is brilliant at what she does and can help make that dream come true. Oh, and I can insure it now too😜

Here we go again DFW. This is what is starting around 630! Stay safe everyone!
From a local plumber: PLEASE READ!!!
Water Meter & Leaks:
Similar to my previous text regarding the fire sprinkler system, please make sure you know where your water meter is located and see all information below:
The freeze event we are experiencing is a once in a lifetime event and you need to be ready to turn off your water supply at the meter to quickly stop the flow of any water.
There also have been numerous emails & social media posts from Southlake & Westlake regarding this.
Find the meter box and sweep the snow and ice off of it now in advance of the thaw coming. The meter box will have a black plastic cover and is located near the curb or street. Look inside and make sure the water meter is accessible.
Be ready with a pair of plyers, t-bar, channel locks, vice grips, etc. To be able to turn the brass valve located on top of the meter off (About 180 degrees) in the event of a leak.
Things you can do in advance of the thaw:
Check throughout the entire home that hot and cold water runs freely in all faucets, tubs, showers, etc. . Also flush all toilets and make sure they fill back up. Pay particular attention to anything on an exterior wall, especially North facing. If there is blockage of any kind, something is frozen and you should turn your meter off now. Be vigilant if your washing machine is on an exterior wall.
If your home passes this first test, you still are not out of the woods, because the thaw is coming.
It is particularly important to Remain vigilant prior to and during the thaw, and don’t leave your home during this timeframe.
When the thaw arrives, Continue to check everywhere including the attic for leaks. This should be a continual process and may take several hours. Listen for leaks as well as looking for them.
The amount of Leaks and flooding throughout DFW is going to be extensive and any and all plumbers, including mine, will be, and are already experiencing unprecedented call volumes and are backed up with no time frame that they can give. It’s strictly a “add to the list and we will get to you as soon as a possible situation”. Parts are also going to be in very short supply.
If you have an unfortunate event, please be patient. This will be a Triage situation for homes and businesses of epic proportions.
