Congratulations to Team Hughes from Arab Elementary School on winning the VEX IQ Elementary State Championship!

The team also captured the Skills Challenge title, earning the highest combined driving and autonomous scores in the state—an incredible accomplishment.

What makes this achievement even more special is the journey behind it. This group showed remarkable growth throughout the season, improving week after week. Even more impressive, these students accomplished all of this in their very first year of competition.

We are incredibly proud of Team Hughes and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!

The Middle School V5 teams competed at the Alabama State Championship on Saturday at Wallace State. For the first time in school history, Arab Junior High School brought home the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!

After coming close the past few years, this was the year we finally finished the job.
Both Arab teams battled their way through the tournament bracket and ended up facing each other in the State Championship Finals. Team 35016T came out on top to claim the title, while 35016X finished as the State Runner-Up. To make the day even more special, 35016T was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award at the event.

With the victory, 35016T will now represent Alabama at the VEX World Championship this April in St. Louis.
We are incredibly proud of both teams and the way they represented Arab Junior High throughout the tournament.

Last Saturday, our VEX IQ teams finished up their regular season at an event hosted at the Hartselle Church of Christ. This was the last chance for teams across Alabama to qualify if they have not already.

While everyone did well, our elementary teams were the standouts for the day. 35016A won the Judges Award, their 6th award of the season. 35016H put together their best performance of the year and qualified for state. They won the tournament, finished 1st in skills, and should have won the excellence award if we are being honest.

They skyrocketed to a number 1 ranking in the state of Alabama!

We had a good showing today at the last V5 invitational of the season at Auburn. Both Arab Middle School teams advanced to the Round of 16. The Legends made it all the way to the semifinals, but were put out by Arab’s high school team.

Congratulations to Arab’s high school team for finishing second place in the tournament!

Our V5 teams had a good showing today at the City of Oxford Tournament. Arab High School were tournament champions and won the innovate award. This is their 4th tournament win and their record now is 46-17, which considering how many signature events they have been in, is really good. Arab Junior High also played well. 35016X lost to Arab High School in the semifinals and 35016T lost to Arab High School in the finals. 35016T (The Legends) were awarded the middle school excellence award and improved their skills score to 2nd in the state and 179th in the world (out of 8000 teams) which is the highest rank I can remember an Arab team being.

Afterwards, we celebrated at Culver's with some victory ice cream!

Had a great time today touring the College of Engineering at Auburn University with our High School Robotics Team.
